Can you explain the process of repairing hail damage on my vehicle step by step?
File your claim online, with your agent, or by calling your insurance company.
Contact us to schedule and have any questions answered.
Drop off vehicle with original estimate.
We will contact the insurance company if changes are needed.
We repair vehicles in a timely and effective manner.
You pick up your vehicle.
How long does the repair process typically take, and will I need to leave my vehicle with you for an extended period?
Typically, for each $1,000 dollars in damage, we will need the vehicle for a day. (On the estimate, it will state how many days to repair.)
What methods do you use to repair hail damage, and how do you ensure the original paint is preserved?
We perform paintless dent repair (PDR). This follows the insurance recommended procedures on a least intrusive repair method. PDR is the preferred method by all insurance companies.
Are there any potential risks or downsides to the repair process that I should be aware of?
No. Not with our company. With 30 years’ experience in PDR, over 17,000 vehicles repaired, we will do the proper repair.
How do you determine the cost of the repair, and will my insurance cover it?
There are industry standards that we follow. If the insurance company doesn’t agree with our estimate, we will negotiate. You will never have to pay for something the insurance company deems unnecessary.
By law, the insurance company is required (with proper coverage) to return your vehicle to pre-loss condition.
Can you provide me with an estimate of the repair cost before I commit to the process?
Absolutely. Prior to any repair, we will provide an initial estimate and once it’s dropped for repair, we send a final to the insurance company (and you).
Do you offer any warranties or guarantees on the repair work?
A lifetime guarantee on all workmanship for the duration of ownership by you.
How do you ensure the quality and longevity of the repair, and what can I do to maintain the repaired area?
Paintless dent repair doesn’t compromise the paint, if repaired properly. If the vehicle has had PDR performed on the hail repair, you can manage your vehicle’s surface just like prior to the damage.
Are there any limitations to the types of hail damage you can repair, and if so, what are they?
The potential limitations are:
Size of damage. If the hail was large enough to stretch the metal, we will move to a better repair process.
Number of dents on a panel. Sometimes the cost effectiveness of repairing with PDR is limited by the number of dents.
If the paint is cracked. We then must send to a body shop (we have relationships with a number of them) for paintwork.
Can you provide me with references or examples of previous hail damage repairs you have completed successfully?
Absolutely. Head over to www.hornytoadhail.com (http://www.hornytoadhail.com) and go to the portfolio page. You can also visit our FB or Google My Business listing, where there are several examples of repair.
What experience do you have?
30 years of paintless dent repair.
17,000 vehicles repaired with PDR.
3,000 supplements issued to insurance companies.
Worked with almost EVERY insurance company.
How do you work with deductibles?
This one can often be tricky. The insurance companies want you to pay your deductible. It helps their bottom line and keeps their DRP’s (direct repair program) manageable. We will cover your deductible internally. WE pay it.
Is that illegal?
No. We do not commit fraud by increasing the cost of repair to cover the deductible. When we submit an estimate to the insurance company, we write what we see.
Are you local to the Killeen area?
We are. We live a few blocks from our shop which is located at 415 East Ave G in Killeen, TX.
Did we hear you are a Veteran?
Both my significant other (Marine) and myself are Veterans. I was in the US Army a LONG time ago.
